ANNOUNCING OPENING OF NAÏVE ART GALLERY

Since opening in 1965, Bryant Galleries has always striven to bring a diverse range of art of the highest caliber.  Now in its 40th year, Bryant Galleries does it again with the opening of BRYANT GALLERIES NAÏVE ART.  Opening in March, the gallery is located at 321 Chartres Street in heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Explore exotic worlds through an outstanding collection of beautiful and affordable Naïve art from the United States, Haiti, South America and Europe.

Naïve art is often noted for its untrained appearance, however, many artists through years of painting, have developed technically into very sophisticated painters.

Noted art critic and founder of the the International Museum of Naïve Art (Nice, France), Anatole Jakovsky writes this about Naïve art:

“Children’s paintings are not works of art.  For them, they are no more than an amusement whereas for the primitivists they are the objects of their lives.  They abolish time and recall their sources, these lost infantile paradises finally re-united.  The Naïve begins where the child ceased to exist.”
